An Unforgettable 15-Day Family Trip to Sri Lanka!
​We recently completed an amazing 15-day family vacation in Sri Lanka organized by Ceylon Travels, and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Traveling with my wife and our young son, we stayed at excellent 4-star and 5-star hotels throughout our journey covering Colombo, Kandy, Mirissa, Bentota, and Nuwara Eliya. It was a fantastic, relaxed itinerary where we never felt rushed and could truly enjoy every moment.
​Sri Lanka is an incredibly clean country with sweet, welcoming people and amazing food. If you are planning a trip here, do yourself a favor and book it with the Ceylon Travels team.
​Our Destination Highlights & Itinerary Tips:
​The Absolute Must-Visits: While the whole country is beautiful, Bentota, Mirissa, and Nuwara Eliya were the absolute standouts for us. You cannot miss these places!
​Pro-Tip on Nuwara Eliya vs. Kandy: If we were to do it again, we would completely skip Kandy and add those extra days to Nuwara Eliya instead. Nuwara Eliya has the amazing Gregory Lake, which is fantastic for families, and a special mention must go to Victoria Park—it is so beautifully maintained and a total must-visit.
​The Hidden Gem (Ambewela Farms): Located near Nuwara Eliya, this was one of the best stops of our entire trip, yet we didn’t see many tourists there. Every single frame and photo you take looks exactly like you are standing in New Zealand or Europe. It is stunningly beautiful.
​Our Safari Experience:
We did a couple of safaris during our stay. If you love wildlife, the Elephant Safari is fantastic and highly recommended. We also went to Yala National Park; unfortunately, it was a bit of a disappointment as the leopards are incredibly elusive and we could hardly spot one—but that’s nature for you!
​A Special Mention to Our Guide, Samurdhi:
The biggest differentiator for our trip was having Samurdhi with us for all 15 days. Traveling with a child can sometimes be challenging, but Samurdhi made our trip incredibly comfortable, safe, and smooth. He was exceptionally kind, helpful, and took great care to explain the history and culture of the places we visited. He ensured we were always comfortable and relaxed.

We were a group of 6 vegetarian people. on a 10 day trip. We jotted our itienary and wanted a travel partner only for the vehicle. We hired a 8 seater and Harsha was our driver. The entire trip was very smooth with no glitches. Harsha suggested good restaurants and knew all the places and suggestions we could do to have a hassle free trip. Midway we also had a smaller sedan as the families split and that driver Samudri also was very good. They were both pleasant and tolerating to all the singing and talking in the cars as we had a lot of travel involved. The pricing was reasonable and the drivers did not ask for anything extra or be snubby in the entire trip.
